Our Story
It’s simple:
Breathe in what you love!
This journey into candlemaking was born out of a desire to find an affordable candle that delivered on the following: rich saturated fragrances free of harmful chemicals, clean-burning wax, and a whimsical flickering wooden wick - all housed in a beautiful vessel that would incorporate seamlessly into every room.
After some trial and error, we arrived at a product we were excited about and decided to put it to the test. Over the holidays instead of buying gifts for friends, family, and business associates, we gave candles. Overwhelmed by the astonishingly positive feedback and exciting demand, we kept making more and more, and well more.
Word of mouth spread and soon we were receiving requests for custom orders. And that’s when our business was born - we specialize in white-labeling our candles to corporations, non-profits, retailers, and real estate agents, providing bespoke, luxury custom candles.
Let us create something SCENTsible for your brand.
Custom-Created for Maximum Hot Throw
All candles are hand-poured and hand-finished in small batches. We only use clean-burning white coconut wax with rich and saturated fragrances free from phthalates and materials on the CA Prop 65 list, including known irritants and environmentally damaging chemicals.
The wick is made from all-natural wood and produces a soft cracking sound when lit.
Each 14-ounce candle comes in a beautiful glass vessel and burns for approximately 75 hours.
Custom Candles
Custom orders are hand-poured and hand-finished, including branded vessel labels, descriptive tags, and packaging.
Minimum order of 12 units for customization.
Candle Collections
If you prefer ordering fewer than 12 units, our Palm Beach Collection is available for purchase.

About Chez Shea
Hi, I’m Carolyn Chauncey, the founder and CCO (Chief Candle Officer) of Chez Shea Custom.
I grew up in the North End of Palm Beach, the youngest of 4 siblings and the only girl. After college, I left Palm Beach for the bright lights of New York City, where I established a media career, which I continue to grow and foster.
In 2022, my husband and I decided to move to Florida to help my aging mother and begin the second chapter of our lives. As interest in my candles expanded and custom orders started to flow in from all parts of the country, I decided to formalize Chez Shea Custom as a Florida LLC and manifest my passion for candle making into something greater.
A lot of people have asked me, “Why Chez Shea?” My husband is Raymond Shea, and Chez Shea is an homage to my marriage and the continuous support Ray provides as I work a full-time remote job in New York, provide care for my mother, raise our new lab puppy, and, yes, build the Chez Shea Custom empire.
